| | okay, updates... i had a lovely time in merced, california visiting my grandma dorothy. i made a lap quilt. woohoo! we thought about making a jean quilt too, but maybe next time.
and audrey and ben came up to visit. we ate sushi and had starbucks and then sat in the downtown square (merced is about the size of owasso, but compressed and a bit more cosmopolitan) and were suprised to see a group of teenage guys roll out a carpet, plug in a boombox and a light, and start breakdancing. it was amazing. then we went back to my grandma's and played cards for several hours. the next morning we drove to san francisco. neither ben nor audrey had been before. we played like tourists and consulted our overly-descriptive guidebook while hiking from fisherman's wharf and pier 39 to chinatown and back. we ate like it was the tulsa state fair. we shared all our meals so as to try everything. fish and chips, crab cakes, and crab for lunch. caramel and chocolate and nut apples for snack. then some taffy for another snack. then some candy cigarettes. then for dinner we ate potstickers and eggplant in plum sauce and lemon chicken in chinatown.
we took lots of pictures. i had some help from my favorite poparazzi. i put some of the photos on my myspace for you guys to see.
okay p.s. i probably have a job now. it's mine if i want it. i'll go in tomorrow to observe and if i think i can do it (i do) i'll take the job as intake counselor at the juvenile bureau. woohoo to health benefits!
i still don't know what i want to be when i grow up, but this will be good experience... |
